What to Recycle?
Please continue to recycle as normal, there are no changes to the recycling program

Ansonia has every other week recycling collection. On your recycling day, just put your filled bin and other recyclables out with your regular household garbage by 6:00 am, rain or shine. Recyclables and garbage will be collected by separate trucks.
If you accidentally discarded an item in your blue bin that cannot be recycled, the blue bin will not be picked up. Residents will be advised on this violation.
NOTE: If 20% or more recyclable items are found in your normal garbage, the garbage will not be picked up. A note will be attached to the garbage receptacle advising the resident of the findings. The State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Recycling Regulations require all recyclable items be separated from the regular garbage. Continued abuse can result in a fine! Any violation of the City of Ansonia Recycling Ordinance can be punishable by a maximum fine of $100.00
